As it happens, the latest product release occurred today, the new line bearing the name of Crucial Ballistix Sport memory.
It includes both DDR2 and DDR3 modules and kits and is intended as an affordable solution for not just mainstream users, but also gamers and general PC enthusiasts.
The DDR3 is intended for current-generation computers, while DDR2 will serve well those customers that haven't yet transitioned to the newest technologies but still seek a decent performance level.
Upon installation, there will be no or very little BIOS configuration needed, regardless of what type of motherboard one has.
In other words, both Intel and AMD-based machines will be able to enjoy the services of the new RAM modules and kits.
“Over the years, Crucial Ballistix memory has earned a reputation amongst gamers and enthusiasts as high-quality, high-performance, reliable memory,” said Jeremy Mortenson, senior product manager.
“The Crucial Ballistix Sport series offers casual gamers an accessible, easy-to-use Ballistix memory product at an affordable price. This new Ballistix offering is part of our broader product strategy and a commitment to satisfy the needs of our customers.”
The Ballistix Sport DDR3 and Ballistix Sport DDR2 have already been detailed in full and are accompanied by limited-lifetime warranties.
All one needs now is a PC, even one based on the second generation Intel Core platform, otherwise known as Sandy bridge, to test their worth. Select Lexar Media partners should already be selling them.
